About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Keep hardware systems, associated operating systems, and connectivity capabilities fully operational and integrated into the NMHC IT environment
  • Monitor, analyze, and plan upgrades to ensure adequate capacity and availability
  • Maintain technical competence for assigned services and systems
  • Provide technical leadership and support for computing systems and systems integration
  • Conduct, analyze, recommend, and present performance and capacity analyses
  • Maintain broad working knowledge of NMHC IT server/distributed systems
  • Diagnose and coordinate problem determination and resolution with vendors and manufacturers
  • Respond to customer needs, manage customer relationships, and follow issues through closure
  • Support application teams with project and support activities
  • Participate in and communicate with project teams
  • Review technology projects, analyze business requirements, recommend system changes, write technical specifications, and implement changes
  • Identify and implement NMHC best-practice standards
  • Develop project plans and work with project managers on scope, effort projections, schedules, and plans
  • Establish and enforce standards, policies, and procedures for local area networks
  • Participate in long- and short-range technology planning
  • Integrate vendor, manufacturer, and point-expertise technical knowledge into NMHC
  • Mentor immediate team and application team members
  • Contribute to the IS Knowledge Repository
  • Provide required on-call support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in core discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in core discipline in the healthcare industry preferred
  • Providing on-call support is required
  • Ability to comply with relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, regulatory, and accreditation standards
  • Successful completion of a criminal-history background check if hired
  • Authorization and disclosure form for the background check
