About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Keep assigned application systems and associated software fully operational and integrated into the Northwestern Medicine IT environment
- Monitor, analyze, and plan system upgrades to ensure functionality and stability
- Provide guidance and support for computing platforms and systems integration
- Integrate end-user requests with software functionality
- Analyze system performance and capacity and recommend improvements
- Coordinate problem determination and resolution with vendors and manufacturers across distributed IT systems
- Respond to customer needs and follow issues through to closure
- Support technical teams and customers with project and support activities
- Participate in project planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of application software code
- Analyze business requirements, recommend system changes, write technical specifications, and implement systems and changes
- Provide support for identifying and implementing best-practice standards
- Mentor Associate Analysts and other application team members
- Contribute to the IS Knowledge Repository
- Participate in on-call support to ensure system availability and performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years technical experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in the core discipline in the healthcare industry preferred
- Ability to participate in on-call support
- Successful completion of a criminal-history background check for new hires and, at times, internal transfers
- Compliance with relevant policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation standards
