About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the design of Noto’s entire product, including layouts, workflows, and on-screen copy
  • Design and build projects end to end, from UI to database
  • Set the design quality bar and shape engineers’ work from scoping through final polish
  • Identify confusing or inefficient customer experiences and redesign and build improved solutions
  • Establish components, patterns, and copy standards
  • Conduct customer discovery through conversations with business owners and front-desk staff
  • Participate in customer support calls, industry conferences, team offsites, and customer visits
  • Attend interviews including design critique, technical screen, and onsite experience in New York City

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four or more years designing and building software products
  • Full-stack ability
  • Comfortable with React, Next.js, Node, and Postgres
  • Ability to use AI to ship features end to end and identify incorrect AI-generated code
  • Strong product judgment
  • Care for words and small details, including labels, error messages, empty states, and parent emails
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to uncover customer problems through interviews
  • Interest in helping education businesses thrive
  • Portfolio required
  • Link to something designed, built, and shipped required
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
