Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, train, and analyze AI/ML systems, including deep reinforcement learning analytics, explainability methods, adversarial machine learning methods, and model interpretability tools
Strategically plan projects and architect solutions
Architect AI solutions and navigate difficult tradeoffs
Help identify and design training datasets
Implement and customize AI models from open literature
Develop MLOps pipelines
Visualize and communicate results in written documents and oral presentations
Brief technical concepts and results to non-specialist audiences
Bring new work to the Technical Solutions division through proposals and conferences
Help develop junior engineers
Support multiple teams and collaborate effectively with teammates
Design machine learning solutions from the lab to the field
Lead AI projects and contribute technical expertise beyond individual work

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master’s degree in computer science, math, physics, or a related field, or bachelor’s degree plus 2 additional years of experience
Strong intellectual curiosity
Ability to identify, understand, and apply relevant research literature
Must possess or be able to obtain an active Secret clearance
Extensive hands-on experience with deep learning models
Strong software development fundamentals in Python
Ability to organize a team to work efficiently
Technical ingenuity and hands-on engineering ability
Passion for building tangible products
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interface with customers
Team-oriented and able to lead a variety of AI projects
Excellent understanding of the statistical foundations of machine learning
Ability to structure machine learning projects in Python
Experience with deep learning models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
Experience with MLOps tools such as PyTorch Lightning, Optuna, or MLflow
Experience deploying and maintaining AI models in production
Experience with DevOps tools including Git, GitLab, CI/CD, remote computing, and Docker
Experience with time series data, satellite imagery, and graph neural networks
Experience leading multidisciplinary AI projects
Experience explaining technical concepts and data analysis results to non-specialist audiences through written documents and oral presentations
Experience participating in SBIR or STTR projects or similar research programs
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with rapid prototyping
U.S. citizenship is required for most positions
