About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee all aspects of Online Market daily food distribution programming
- Ensure adherence to food distribution program standard operating procedures, food storage, workplace safety, and sanitation standards
- Act as manager on duty and primary site contact for neighbors, volunteers, staff, and stakeholders
- Serve as primary point of contact for food distribution partnership relations
- Oversee staff training, supervision, and coaching
- Use data-informed continuous quality improvement practices to optimize programming and partnership expansion
- Oversee inventory and relationships with The Greater Chicago Food Depository, U.S.D.A., FEMA, and other external partners
- Participate in the Program Leadership Team and Nourishing Hope Leadership Team
- Travel to other Nourishing Hope locations and program and partner sites across Chicago as needed
- Support a dignified and respectful experience aligned with Nourishing Hope’s Core Values
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred
- 4+ years work experience in social services, customer service, or grocery/retail environments
- 2+ years experience supervising and providing coaching to a team
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to drive a van
- Strong technology skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
- Ability to use and maintain Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) data quality
- Understanding of and belief in the importance of food security for everyone
- Familiarity with interconnected barriers experienced by neighbors experiencing food insecurity
- Ability to obtain and maintain food service sanitation certification in accordance with municipal and state laws
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and accuracy
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and Saturdays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and push/pull up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and move objects up to 3000 pounds with pallet jacks
- Ability to work on one’s feet for most of the day
- Ability to engage in prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to lift, bend, crouch, reach, and ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Ability to operate a cargo van
- Visual acuity and depth perception to operate safely in a collaborative, physical environment
- Manual dexterity to use computer, mouse, telephone, and standard office equipment
- Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred
- Previous nonprofit or hunger relief experience highly preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices highly preferred
- Experience in Non-violent Crisis Intervention techniques highly preferred
- Successful completion of required background screening
