About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the plant in accordance with the O&M agreement
  • Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance activities at PV plant sites
  • Meet plant objectives for health and safety, environmental stewardship, employee training and development, quality control, work management, performance management, generation asset operations and maintenance, reliability improvements, technology evaluation, process development and oversight, and budget development and adherence
  • Provide general oversight of site personnel, supervisors, technicians, staff specialists, and subject matter experts
  • Manage plant personnel, policies, and programs, including morale, staffing, training, and safety
  • Communicate regularly with management and site personnel regarding operational and maintenance issues
  • Assist with hiring site personnel and conduct employee performance reviews
  • Ensure adherence to company and department policies and procedures
  • Operate the plant within the approved budget
  • Ensure compliance with LGIA, PPA, O&M contracts, environmental standards, and governmental regulations
  • Interface with central support groups to minimize unplanned downtime, solve problems, and identify improvement opportunities
  • Manage PV plant planning, scheduling, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance programs
  • Improve plant condition and performance
  • Monitor and manage inventories of spare parts, supplies, equipment, and tools
  • Manage Maximo enterprise asset management system and ensure complete, accurate integration
  • Report to the most senior site manager or supervisor
  • Lead work groups, supervise plant evolutions, and assume Site Supervisor or manager duties when requested
  • Travel according to regional needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance and personnel management in the utility or energy industry
  • Experience encompassing operations, maintenance, performance reporting, and outage management
  • Demonstrated understanding of power plants, EH&S compliance, budgeting, personnel management, operations, and maintenance
  • Technical School Diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or engineering preferred
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of commitment to customer success
  • Ability to share technical expertise with team members and customers
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and direct safe operation and maintenance activities for multiple complex projects
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence
  • Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, and conduct analysis independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work in difficult customer situations
  • Availability for 24-hour on-call duty
  • Ability to communicate face-to-face and by phone with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to meet education and experience requirements of the job description
