About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the product roadmap for NPR’s audience lifecycle and martech ecosystem, including Piano.io and Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into prioritized engineering backlogs
  • Build, configure, and operationalize internal-facing audience activation tools
  • Establish self-serve processes, user permissions, and governance guardrails
  • Design scalable automation rules and capabilities across the listener journey
  • Optimize email discovery, content re-engagement, recurring donation conversion, and win-back
  • Collaborate with Data and Analytics teams on CDP segmentation, tracking taxonomy, and attribution modeling
  • Drive technical development and platform enhancements for NPR’s editorial newsletter suite
  • Evaluate and deploy practical, responsible AI and automation capabilities within lifecycle workflows
  • Design personalization and segmentation workflows supporting diverse audience engagement
  • Author product documentation and lifecycle governance best practices
  • Conduct internal training sessions to enable cross-departmental adoption of activation tools
  • Partner daily with Data, Editorial, Marketing, Design, Engineering, and Product teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of digital product management experience managing complex platforms
  • Track record of driving measurable business or audience outcomes
  • Substantive experience managing enterprise marketing automation platforms, customer data platforms (CDPs), or audience lifecycle suites such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Piano.io, Braze, or Segment
  • Experience translating cross-departmental requirements into structured user stories, technical specifications, and prioritized roadmaps
  • Experience leading technical software migrations, vendor integrations, or enterprise tooling rollouts
  • Background in data-informed product development, digital analytics, cohort tracking, and structured A/B testing
  • Ability to synthesize inputs from stakeholders into a coherent product architecture and execution plan
  • Experience enabling internal tools and platforms with self-service flexibility and organizational guardrails
  • Fluency in customer segmentation logic, data pipelines, retention funnels, and performance reporting
  • Superior written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical partners
  • Ability to prioritize product enhancements and maintain roadmaps through organizational or technical evolution
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field, OR equivalent practical work experience demonstrating equivalent technical and product management capability
  • Ability to work from an NPR-supported location within the United States, on-site at an NPR facility, or in a combination of remote and on-site work
  • Willingness to travel to other locations from time to time
