About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure compliance with NRC policies, manuals, guidelines, procedures, and internal controls
  • Record processed transactions on a daily basis
  • Verify supporting documents and vouchers in accordance with NRC procedures and standards
  • Process payments through the designated platforms
  • Physically and electronically archive financial documents
  • Conduct monthly visits to the archive room
  • Contribute to reconciliations of bank accounts, cash accounts, and other accounts
  • Participate in monthly closing processes and clear assigned balance sheet accounts
  • Participate in the reconciliation of deliverables (Report of Delivery – ROD)
  • Collaborate with sub-base assistants on financial reviews
  • Provide the documents and information required for project and annual audits
  • Contribute to the financial verification of monthly and annual tax returns and declarations
  • Report challenges to the supervisor and propose improvements to financial processes and tools

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Professional experience as a Finance Officer in a humanitarian context, with similar responsibilities
  • Previous professional experience in complex and unstable environments
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully carrying out the responsibilities associated with the position
  • Good command of Excel and Word; advanced Excel skills are a significant advantage
  • Good knowledge of applicable labor legislation
  • Excellent written and spoken French
  • At least one year of experience in a similar position
  • University degree comprising three years of study in accounting, management sciences, business administration, economics, or a related field
  • At least one year of professional experience in the field
  • Knowledge of the Congolese financial system
  • English proficiency is an advantage
  • Knowledge of local languages is an advantage
