About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the business through its next phase of growth by completing financial and operational tasks effectively and promptly
  • Assist with month-end processes, including journals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and fixed assets
  • Support management accounts preparation as experience develops
  • Manage aged debtors and credit control, including sales invoicing, chasing overdue payments and maximising cash collection
  • Manage aged creditors and supplier payments
  • Reconcile supplier statements and maintain an accurate, up-to-date purchase ledger
  • Process payment runs
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Oversee company expenses, particularly staff company card spend, ensuring expenditure is authorised, coded and within policy
  • Handle general ad hoc queries and assist staff worldwide with day-to-day queries
  • Support intercompany accounting processes, ensuring balances reconcile correctly and reporting requirements are maintained

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Part-qualified, finalist accountant, or newly qualified (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant or similar finance role
  • Strong IT skills with Microsoft Excel essential
  • Confident use of SUMIFS and XLOOKUP and/or VLOOKUP
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Proactive self-starter with a can-do attitude, willing to contribute and share ideas to improve processes and increase efficiency
  • Ability to embrace change and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to react well to pressure and welcome new ideas
  • Self-motivation and diligence
  • Positive attitude with realistic expectations
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
