About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with clients to understand workflows and reporting needs
Translate client needs into reporting requirements and a practical technical approach
Build and maintain Databricks data pipelines integrating client-system data
Create clean, reliable, and well-documented data models
Design Power BI dashboards and reports
Apply sound data modelling, efficient DAX, and appropriate access controls
Collaborate with software developers, product managers, product designers, and client IT teams
Integrate, deploy, and improve data solutions
Improve dashboard performance, data quality, pipeline reliability, and usability
Own work from initial requirements through delivery of usable dashboards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience building and publishing Power BI reports used by real stakeholders
Power BI data modelling, DAX, row-level security, workspace management, and deployment pipelines
Experience working in Databricks notebooks
SQL and Python or PySpark
Understanding of Delta Lake and raw-to-reporting-ready data flows, such as medallion architecture
Ability to clean, join, and validate messy data
Ability to explain data findings to plant managers, subject matter experts, and developers
Ability to clarify ambiguous requirements
Ownership from scoping through delivery
Availability to travel to client sites in Bruce County or Durham region 1–2 times per month or as required by project needs
Experience with Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Unity Catalog, or Purview is an asset
Exposure to lakehouse design and data platform architecture is an asset
Experience in nuclear, energy, or another regulated industry is an asset
Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300) or Databricks Certified Data Analyst Associate certification is an asset
Legally eligible to work in Canada
