About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design all aspects of metal building systems, including structural steel, wall and roof panels, secondary members, and stability bracing
- Develop safe and economical structures that fulfill project requirements and comply with industry codes and standards
- Use proprietary software for frame, secondary, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis
- Work closely with the Detailing Department and other team members to communicate design requirements
- Review and check structural drawings for accuracy
- Collaborate with teams throughout the division to find innovative solutions
- Participate in cross-training and explore different departments and roles
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited school
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam prior to hire date
- Proficient in verbal and written communication in English
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Educational focus on structural engineering preferred
- Basic knowledge of building construction preferred
- Understanding of current building codes and standard industry practices preferred
- Experience in pre-engineered metal building systems preferred
- Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
