About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work closely with division leadership to understand business needs and ensure IT infrastructure and technology support needs are met across NSIN and NTSIN locations
- Provide leadership, support, and development for the NSIN and NTSIN IT team
- Lead technical infrastructure planning and support
- Provide senior-level technical expertise
- Guide day-to-day activities and ensure work and projects progress in a timely and effective manner
- Work with NBT Shared Services to align local business needs with enterprise technology capabilities, standards, and support models
- Support and accelerate AI and automation initiatives that improve business processes and team effectiveness
- Manage virtual local or cloud platforms such as VMware environments and/or Azure Computing, including storage and networking
- Administer Windows servers
- Lead security and system patching and drive security culture
- Administer Active Directory, certificates, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365
- Perform data backup, testing, and recovery
- Work a rotational on-call IT support schedule, including evenings and weekends as assigned
- Mentor IT infrastructure and technical support peers
- Translate business needs into technical solutions and keep leadership informed about risks, progress, and resource needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and Operations, including configuring and managing server environments
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field OR 7+ years of relevant experience in IT Infrastructure and Operations
- Demonstratable experience leading a team or large projects with other team members
- 3+ years experience with VMware design and administration
- 5+ years of significant experience with Veeam or other backup systems
- 5+ years with security patching operating systems and infrastructure
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
- Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards
- Preferred: 7+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and Operations
- Preferred: Experience managing VMware Environments, VMware Cloud Foundations (VCF) and/or Azure Computing, including storage, network, and container applications
- Preferred: Manufacturing-related IT experience with OT environments and systems
- Preferred: Linux administration experience
- Preferred: SQL Server and Oracle database management or knowledge
- Preferred: Scripting experience, including PowerShell and bash script
- Preferred: Experience with data center design including environmental control requirements
