Key responsibilities & impact
  • Shape and value-engineer the programme, prioritising and sequencing initiatives to deliver high-value outcomes early
  • Develop and maintain integrated delivery plans across multiple workstreams
  • Apply Agile principles where appropriate
  • Manage interdependencies, critical paths, risks and issues
  • Create and maintain resource plans, identifying workforce requirements, onboarding needs and resource commitments
  • Collaborate with functional and business leaders to secure, coordinate and optimise resources
  • Lead programme budgeting activities with Finance
  • Define, refine and manage costs, track expenditure and ensure financial transparency
  • Establish programme governance, reporting frameworks, RAID management, decision-making forums and governance ceremonies
  • Build stakeholder relationships and provide clear updates to Executive leadership
  • Coordinate activity across operational, clinical, support and technology functions
  • Identify risks, constraints and delivery challenges and implement mitigation strategies
  • Foster collaborative and efficient ways of working supporting sustainable change and adoption of programme deliverables

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven track record of value engineering complex programmes, making evidence-based trade-offs between cost, scope, pace and benefit
  • Experience mobilising and managing large-scale transformation programmes involving multiple workstreams, stakeholders and dependencies
  • Strong expertise in programme planning, delivery sequencing and management of critical paths across complex initiatives
  • Demonstrable experience in resource planning, workforce mobilisation and coordinating cross-functional delivery teams
  • Strong financial management capability, including budget ownership, forecasting, cost control and reporting
  • Experience establishing governance structures, programme reporting frameworks, RAID processes and delivery controls
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience engaging senior leaders and Executive-level stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively across clinical, operational, support and technology teams
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Pragmatic, outcome-focused approach, balancing pace, quality and stakeholder expectations
  • PRINCE2, Agile, MSP or equivalent project/programme management qualification is desirable
