About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build digital products, AI-powered features, agents and automated workflows that solve priority business challenges
- Validate ideas quickly with business stakeholders through AI-prototyped products and solutions
- Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude and/or Copilot from discovery and prototyping through testing, deployment, monitoring and ongoing support
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for cloud-hosted solutions
- Productionise successful prototypes into secure, maintainable internal applications
- Champion effective use of AI to increase engineering productivity and accelerate delivery
- Partner directly with business stakeholders to uncover opportunities, rapidly prototype solutions and iterate based on feedback
- Own the full lifecycle of solutions, including cloud deployment, monitoring and operational support
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience translating loosely defined business challenges and/or requirements into working digital products
- Strong stakeholder collaboration and management skills, product judgement and a bias for practical delivery
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and/or Copilot
- Experience designing and developing modern web applications, dashboards, APIs and internal tools
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Java and/or Python
- Experience with development frameworks and languages such as React
- Full-stack engineering experience covering frontend user interfaces, backend services, data and integration patterns
- Experience deploying, operating and supporting applications in cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment processes
- Experience building and operating production services with monitoring, alerting, logging and observability tooling such as New Relic
- Experience designing and consuming APIs and integrating data from internal and third-party platforms and services
- Strong understanding of software architecture, security, performance, scalability and resilience principles
- Experience evaluating and introducing emerging AI technologies
- Desirable: experience building data dashboards, reporting platforms, commercial and analytics products or operational tooling
- Desirable: experience with Microsoft Azure App Services, Functions, Storage and managed database services
- Desirable: relational and non-relational databases, data engineering, machine learning and LLMs
- Desirable: event-driven architectures, messaging platforms and system integrations
- Desirable: experience in healthcare, fitness, retail, digital or other customer-facing environments
