About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop the process team
- Serve as an authority on crushing and grinding circuit selection, sizing and performance
- Deliver projects from concept through detailed design with technical and economic input from multi-discipline teams
- Lead technical studies on comminution, including crushing, SAG, ball mill and HPGR circuits, and Mine to Mill processes
- Provide comminution expertise across multiple projects and drive quality delivery and innovation
- Shape technical strategy with accountability for technical integrity, risk, standards and safety
- Provide technical governance for process engineering output on project comminution equipment
- Continuously improve standards, tools, processes and guidelines
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to support and develop the team
- Collaborate with and influence others through positive behaviours and Sedgman’s Values in Action
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical / Metallurgy)
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in a design/consultancy environment in a mineral processing capacity working on multi-discipline engineering projects
- Extensive experience across base and/or precious metals minerals processing facilities, including ore handling, comminution, classification, mineral separation/extraction, product dewatering, tailings and water management systems
- Ability to provide technical authority across integrated plant design
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to identify and resolve technical issues or escalate as required
- Detailed experience with engineering tools and software
- Skilled in power modelling and simulation packages such as JKSimMet, Moly-Cop and IES
- Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
