About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and develop the process team
Serve as an authority on froth flotation projects for copper, gold and base metal projects globally
Deliver projects from concept through detailed design with technical and economic input from multi-discipline teams
Lead technical studies on flotation and mining value chain optimisation projects
Provide technical leadership for testwork programs, interpretation of testwork results and process mineralogy
Develop efficient flowsheets and designs to maximise mineral recovery
Lead flotation equipment sizing, layout and flowsheet engineering
Provide froth flotation expertise across multiple projects
Drive quality delivery and innovation and shape technical strategy with accountability for technical integrity, risk, standards and safety
Pursue coarse particle flotation and high-intensity froth flotation technologies for proving and full-scale implementation
Continuously improve standards, tools, processes and guidelines for the mechanical engineering discipline
Assist with review and coordination of team project allocations
Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to support and develop the team
Collaborate with and influence others through positive behaviours and company values

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical/ Metallurgy)
Minimum 15 years’ experience in a design/consultancy environment in a chemical/wet mechanical engineering capacity working on multi-discipline engineering projects
Extensive experience across base metals minerals processing facilities, including ore handling, comminution, classification, mineral separation, product dewatering, tailings and water management systems
Ability to provide technical authority across integrated plant design
Ability to solve complex problems
Ability to identify and resolve technical issues or escalate as required
Detailed experience with engineering tools and software
Skilled in simulation packages such as MetSim, JKSimMet, IES, JKSimFloat is highly regarded
Demonstrated experience in a similar leadership role
Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
