About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support on structural engineering projects
- Conduct structural design and investigations
- Manage project budgets and schedules
- Prepare technical reports
- Provide engineering support for structural and concrete designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and industry standards
- Perform concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs
- Perform detailed concrete and steel design
- Interact with drafters to produce models and documentation in line with QA compliance
- Assist with construction enquiries, including safe lifting and erection
- Interface with Electrical, Process and Mechanical Engineering disciplines
- Focus on technical innovation and continuous improvement
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering
- 5–7 years of structural engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a lead or senior role
- Must be eligible to register with the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration to obtain the Professional Engineer licensing (P.E.)
- Strong understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures
- Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in design/consultancy/operational environments
- Previous mining or metals industry experience is highly desired
- Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities and activities
- Well-developed communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with Canadian building code across the provinces is desirable
- Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
