About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide procurement and contract management support throughout the lifecycle of overhead or technical services contracts
- Plan procurement activities, prequalify bidders, develop bidder lists and solicitation packages, analyze bids, negotiate awards, administer contracts, manage changes, and close out contracts
- Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute NDAs, subcontracts, consulting agreements, licensing agreements, master services agreements, task orders, and purchase orders
- Serve as the single point of contact on contractual matters
- Act as a liaison between company employees and suppliers
- Review and reconcile contractual deviations and negotiate with suppliers’ attorneys or purchasing staff
- Maintain contractual records, correspondence, supplier information, contract changes, status reports, and related documentation
- Provide contract guidance to project managers and responsible staff
- Monitor competitive terms, satisfaction with terms and conditions, and contracting practices; recommend changes
- Produce and manage RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs
- Interface with ordering departments to clarify scope and technical requirements
- Facilitate discussions with ordering departments and suppliers
- Coordinate terms and conditions review with Legal and Finance to minimize legal and other risks
- Ensure contract closeout, extension, or renewal
- Adhere to NuScale Safety culture and model safe behavior
- Develop strong interpersonal networks, lead consensus, and achieve accountability of supervised personnel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of B.S. or B.A. in Supply Chain, Business Management, Finance, Economics, or related field required
- Minimum of five (5) years of full-time and relevant working experience in procurement and contract management in the energy, utility or similar highly regulated industry
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
- Understanding of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1
- Ability to understand and communicate clearly using a phone, personal interaction, and computers
- Ability to learn new job functions and comprehend and understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a rapidly evolving environment
- Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation
- Ability to perform essential duties efficiently and accurately with or without reasonable accommodation without causing significant safety threat to self or others
