About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 piping systems using Bentley AutoPIPE
  • Perform design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 piping components using ANSYS
  • Perform pipe support design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III NF supports
  • Perform static and dynamic analysis, including response spectrum and time history analysis, for deadweight, thermal expansion, thermal gradients, seismic events, and fluid transients
  • Prepare and review engineering specifications, drawings, CAD models, and documentation for NSSS piping components
  • Collaborate with drafters and review Siemens NX models
  • Offer design solutions such as piping re-routes and support reconfigurations to satisfy piping stress criteria
  • Work on complex tasks across multiple areas and interpret scope and project requirements
  • Acquire, maintain, and develop training qualifications
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work under ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering, from a four year ABET accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 6 years of full-time, relevant professional experience
  • Experience with design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III piping systems in accordance with NB, NC, or ND-3600
  • Experience with the Bentley AutoPIPE computer code is desirable (similar code is acceptable)
  • Experience with design and stress analysis of ASME BPVC Section III piping components using ANSYS computer program in accordance with NB-3200 (preferred)
  • Experience with ASME Section III NF (preferred)
  • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
  • Knowledge and implementation of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 quality assurance regulations, standards, and guidelines
  • Ability to understand and communicate clearly using a phone, personal interaction, and computers
  • Ability to learn new job functions and comprehend and apply new concepts quickly
  • Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation
