About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide procurement and contract management throughout the lifecycle of engineering, design, fabrication, testing, manufacturing, and/or construction contracts
- Plan procurement activities, prequalify bidders, develop bidder lists, and prepare bid solicitation packages
- Perform bid analysis, negotiations, contract administration, change management, and contract closeout
- Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute NDAs, subcontracts, consulting agreements, licensing agreements, master services agreements, task orders, and purchase orders
- Review customer-proposed terms and conditions
- Serve as the single point of contact on contractual matters
- Act as liaison between company employees and suppliers
- Review and reconcile contractual deviations and negotiate with suppliers’ attorneys or purchasing staff
- Maintain contractual records, correspondence, supplier information, contract changes, status reports, and related documentation
- Provide contract guidance to project managers and operational staff
- Monitor competitive terms, satisfaction with terms and conditions, and contracting practices; recommend changes
- Produce and manage RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs
- Interface with ordering departments to clarify scope and technical requirements
- Facilitate discussions with ordering departments and suppliers
- Coordinate terms and conditions review with Legal and Finance
- Ensure contract closeout, extension, or renewal
- Adhere to NuScale safety culture and implement quality assurance requirements under 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of a B.S. or B.A. in Supply Chain, Business Management, Finance, Economics, or related field is required
- Master’s degree and/or Certified Purchasing Manager preferred
- An additional 4 years (9 years total) of directly applicable full-time working experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 5 years of full-time working experience in nuclear contract management in the nuclear industry is required
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
- Ability to understand and communicate clearly using a phone, personal interaction, and computers
- Ability to learn new job functions and comprehend and understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a rapidly evolving environment
- Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation
- Must perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently and accurately without causing significant safety threat to self or others
