About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and enhance ServiceNow HAM and SAM capabilities throughout the asset lifecycle.
Design solutions connecting service catalogs, procurement requests, asset fulfillment, and entitlement management.
Configure asset management workflows for hardware assignments, software provisioning, license allocation, renewals, and reclamation.
Improve asset visibility and maintain ownership information for hardware and software.
Strengthen relationships between CMDB and asset management records.
Build and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external inventory management tools.
Automate inventory discrepancy identification, reconciliation, and data remediation.
Customize catalog items, record producers, and portal functionality.
Develop technical solutions using Flow Designer, business rules, client scripts, Script Includes, and other ServiceNow capabilities.
Create and maintain REST/SOAP, IntegrationHub, MID Server, Import Sets, and Transform Maps integrations.
Apply JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting to customize functionality and improve performance.
Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog refinement.
Develop automated testing procedures and troubleshoot platform issues.
Collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, and developers to translate requirements into solutions.
Support deployments through testing, implementation, training, documentation, and post-deployment support.
Provide technical guidance and contribute to continuous platform improvement.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and professional experience.
Minimum of 8 years of professional ServiceNow development experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience with HAM and/or SAM Professional implementations.
Experience implementing and supporting at least three ServiceNow modules.
Strong understanding of ServiceNow HAM and SAM capabilities, including asset lifecycle management, hardware models, stockrooms, software entitlements, license normalization, reconciliation, and reclamation.
Experience developing and maintaining CMDB solutions, with knowledge of CSDM, CI classifications, asset-to-CI relationships, and Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
Hands-on experience integrating ServiceNow Discovery and external inventory sources with the CMDB.
Experience with software and hardware inventory integrations, including SCCM or comparable enterprise discovery and inventory platforms.
Proficiency developing ServiceNow Service Catalog solutions, including catalog items, record producers, variable sets, and Service Portal enhancements.
Strong experience with Flow Designer, workflow automation, business rules, notifications, and platform configuration.
Experience developing and supporting REST/SOAP integrations, IntegrationHub, MID Server, Import Sets, and Transform Maps.
Proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting, including GlideRecord, GlideSystem, Script Includes, Scheduled Jobs, GlideAjax, and g_form.
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and AngularJS for Service Portal development and customization.
Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, including version control, CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, and code quality standards.
Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating with technical and functional teams.
Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical challenges and deliver solutions that meet functional and operational requirements.
Experience supporting classified Intelligence Community or Department of Defense environments.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts, document solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders.
Active Top Secret security clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
At least one of the following: ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Hardware Asset Management or ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Software Asset Management.
