About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with engineering and/or design teams on specific projects
- Deliver effective and cost-efficient alternatives and solutions
- Develop and deliver client reports recommending updates for compliance and/or operational functionality of fire, suppression and/or life safety systems
- Provide code and standard references, document research, reports, and interpretations for fire protection
- Meet with jurisdictional authorities and clients to resolve compliance questions
- Review and maintain working knowledge of changing codes, standards, industry specifications, and practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of equivalent experience and nationally recognized certification(s)
- Have passed the EIT Examination
- Able to sit for the Professional Engineering examination within 4 years
- Ability to travel 50%, mainly in the US/Canada
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Must be within 1 hour of a major US airport
- Working knowledge of Fire, Life Safety and Building Codes and NFPA Standards
- Field engineering/consulting experience in fire protection
- Experience with or knowledge of passive fire protection
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines and budgets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working competency with MS Office and MS Project software
