About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the site Engineering organization of Mechanical and Electrical teams to achieve and exceed the Annual Operating Plan
  • Lead and prioritize engineering resources and initiatives with other site functions to meet customer and business demands
  • Partner with multiple functions in the Engineered To Order process
  • Balance engineering rigor, velocity, schedule, and flexibility to meet business results
  • Provide technical and strategic leadership aligned to long-term product architecture and business goals
  • Lead, coach, and mentor leadership within building framework and power systems functions
  • Achieve Quality, Delivery, and Efficiency targets across the Engineering organization
  • Develop and maintain training and onboarding programs for new hires
  • Coordinate activities supporting offshore and contract engineering resources
  • Drive continuous improvement and high-quality results
  • Implement standard design practices
  • Provide communication, work direction, coaching, and development support to build team capability and accountability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering-related area; Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Architectural, or comparable experience
  • 10+ years of proven ability
  • 8+ years of leadership experience with technical teams
  • Experience in Engineered To Order (ETO) engineering operations, process improvement, or technical program leadership
  • Solid understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes pertaining to control buildings
  • Knowledge of engineering documentation practices
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Solidworks
  • Strong interpersonal and planning skills
  • Agile mentality
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management capabilities
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Sheet metal experience preferred
