About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead procurement efforts and supplier relationships for Real Estate and Data Center Construction
  • Deliver optimal solutions, cost savings, and improved commercial terms
  • Support tenant improvement and ground-up construction for US and international construction sourcing projects
  • Partner with Project Management, Legal, Finance, and Engineering to identify cost savings and improve contract terms
  • Support the objectives of the Real Estate and Data Center MEP Engineering & Construction teams
  • Develop category plans, conduct market research, identify viable suppliers, and establish a scalable supply base
  • Lead sourcing activities, including RFXs, and negotiate construction-related contracts with general contractors, MEP design-build firms, engineering firms, architects, development managers, and cost consultants
  • Manage sourcing projects from initiation through completion, including regular status updates to internal partners
  • Deliver high-quality, ethical, customer-focused results
  • Identify process and toolset improvements, implement strategic plans, increase efficiency and productivity, and supervise performance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of strategic sourcing experience
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale capital expenditure (CapEx) construction programs in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to work effectively with various collaborators to meet demanding project schedules
  • Ability to lead negotiation teams for complex construction and development contracts
  • Expertise in procurement for Real Estate Construction contracts, focusing on Design-Build and Cost + Fixed Fee % with GMP
  • Skilled negotiator able to achieve favorable contractual terms and market competitive commercial rates
  • Experience qualifying and developing a supply base of qualified construction contractors
  • Business acumen to make informed decisions with incomplete data and changing plans and priorities
  • Experience with project management and procurement tools, such as e-RFx and Contract Lifecycle Management
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to give presentations to senior management
  • Experience managing large-scale, complex construction procurement projects, preferably within a global organization or supporting multinational collaborators
  • Master’s or other advanced degree preferred
  • Expert contract negotiation skills
  • Experience with Colo and CSP agreements highly desirable
  • Detailed technical and supply base knowledge of latest rack cooling systems and MEP equipment for next-generation data centers
  • Experience providing construction procurement support for campus development
