About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop production-grade software for MCUXpresso SDK and Zephyr RTOS running on NXP microcontrollers
- Implement drivers, subsystems, and middleware in C for new MCU devices
- Create Zephyr support, including device tree, DTS bindings, and Kconfig
- Bring up boards and SoCs, including clock, pinmux, power, boot, and memory maps
- Write samples and tests
- Contribute upstream through pull requests, reviews, RFCs, and CI fixes
- Diagnose low-level issues using debuggers, traces, and logic analyzers
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams at NXP and the open-source community
Requirements
What you’ll need- Practical experience with embedded programming in C
- Solid understanding of microcontroller architecture fundamentals
- Analytical mindset and reliable debugging skills for embedded targets and low-level software
- Familiarity with standard software development workflows, processes, and best practices
- Working knowledge of Git or other version control tools
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken
- Experience with MCUXpresso or similar silicon vendor ecosystem is a plus
- Zephyr experience (device tree, Kconfig, west) is a plus
- Experience with MCU interfaces: SPI, I²C, UART, I²S, SDIO is a plus
- Experience developing or testing embedded software for microcontrollers is a plus
- Experience with real-time operating systems in embedded environments is a plus
- Rust language knowledge is a plus
- Scripting languages such as Python and build tools such as make are a plus
- Valid visa and work permit to work in the Czech Republic
