About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with clients providing specialist consultancy services
- Support business development activities
- Use engineering knowledge to influence the design, operation and maintenance of complex systems
- Identify, communicate and manage technical risks
- Ensure the safety of people using or relying on systems
- Provide hazard and risk analysis technical leadership to WOME projects and junior staff
- Conduct Independent Safety Audits for WOME programmes
- Set and implement safety strategies for complex and novel WOME systems
- Lead WOME integration studies for air platforms, ships, submarines and land systems
- Set WOME certification and qualification strategies and programmes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Educated to degree level (or equivalent), preferably in a related technical discipline
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Weapons, Defence Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives (WOME)
- Customer focus with an ability to develop strong relationships and understand problems
- Awareness of commercial strategies for the successful contracting of new work
- Experience of working in teams and developing others
- UK national required to apply
- Must undergo pre-employment screening and satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting
- Chartered Status with UK Engineering Council (desirable)
- Consultancy experience (desirable)
- SC and/or DV security clearance (desirable)
