About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own post-close legal work, including governance events, transfers, secondaries, distributions, and exits
- Handle unusual issues where documentation does not clearly answer a question
- Handle every legal escalation from the operations team
- Work alongside deal operations to simplify, streamline, and automate workflows
- Build agents, scripts, spreadsheets, no-code tools, and vibe-coded applications to automate operational work
- Identify work requiring significant engineering and bring in product, design, and engineering teams
- Manage the boundary between in-house and external legal work
- Hold external advisers accountable for cost and turnaround
- Act as counsel on day-to-day deal legal matters while focusing on operational automation
- Collaborate closely with founders, product, and the wider operations team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified with real deal legals experience in funds, corporate, or financial services
- Clear evidence of building concrete solutions with no budget and no engineers
- Experience with no-code tooling, scripts, spreadsheets, vibe-coded apps, or similar solutions
- Ability to understand systems end to end and manage operational details
- First-principles process and product thinking
- Commercial judgement in a regulated business
- Ability to make autonomous decisions under commercial and regulatory pressure
- Willingness to operate rather than manage
- Comfortable working at least three days a week in the London office
