About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Understand operational processes, edge cases, manual steps and bottlenecks
- Redesign, automate and build better ways of performing operational work
- Turn manual workflows into tools, automations and scalable systems
- Work autonomously and quickly, often building useful solutions before traditional product or engineering involvement
- Bridge operations and engineering by identifying when process, automation, lightweight builds or deeper engineering are appropriate
- Bring Product, Design and Engineering into deeper work with problems already understood, simplified and proven
- Challenge unnecessary processes and requests; eliminate workflows that lack a clear purpose
- Build AI agents that automate operational work
- Collaborate closely with operations team members, founders, Product and the wider operations team
- Automate the infrastructure supporting private investment firms, including processes involving fund administration and financial operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Clear evidence of building concrete solutions to problems with no budget and no engineers, including no-code tooling, scripts, spreadsheets or vibe-coded apps
- Comfortable with financial mechanics and strong mental arithmetic
- Ability to automate numerical matters such as carry, allocations, fee calculations and distributions
- Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized; able to understand systems end to end, close loops, chase and drive execution
- First-principles approach to processes and systems
- Product instinct and ability to distinguish process, automation, lightweight-build and deeper-engineering solutions
- Regulated financial services background is a big plus, including fund administration, custody, payments, brokerage, audit, tax or another back-office function
- SQL, serious Excel and experience piping data between systems are advantageous
- A few years into your career with demonstrated automation or AI-building experience is welcomed
- Willingness to operate rather than manage
- Ability to work at least three days per week in the London office
