About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions for clients in a virtual Intensive Outpatient mental health program
- Assess clients’ therapeutic needs and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Facilitate group, family, individual, and specialized therapy sessions
- Complete psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans, and other required reports
- Complete clinical documentation within prescribed formats and timelines
- Maintain ongoing assessments of clients’ clinical presentation and behaviors
- Select appropriate interventions for individual client needs
- Maintain therapeutic relationships with clients using praise and other reinforcers
- Set limits and maintain therapeutic boundaries
- Conduct verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation and follow client safety and emergency response protocols
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care from admission through discharge
- Attend clinical, consultation, and operations meetings
- Serve as a clinical advocate for assigned cases
- Communicate client progress with referral sources, families, parents, and guardians as appropriate
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, families, clinical providers, referral partners, and vendors
- Attend and complete trainings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling or psychology
- Must hold an LCSW, LPC/MHSP, LMFT or PhD; PsyD with HSP, in good standing, within the state of Tennessee
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with clients with a primary mental health diagnosis
- Tennessee clinical licensure and willingness to obtain Iowa clinical licensure
- Willingness to obtain licensure in additional states, as needed
- Criminal background check clearance and any other mandatory state/federal requirements
- Ability to facilitate individual, family, and group behavioral health services through virtual platforms
- Knowledge of current theory and evidence-based practice
- Ability to conduct screening and assessment and develop individualized care plans
- Ability to conduct verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation in a virtual environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, clients, families, and external partners
- Ability to sit or remain stationary for extended periods
- Ability to speak and hear
- May be required to lift up to 15 lbs
- Ability to complete required training within assigned time frames
