About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant online services
- Develop expertise in supervised services and Ofcom’s online safety programme, including online safety, markets, and technology developments
- Understand, assess, and drive improvements in user protections and obligations under the Online Safety Act
- Drive research, information gathering, and analysis about supervised services
- Produce clear, concise documents such as briefings and research reports for internal use or external publication
- Oversee and manage junior and cross-functional colleagues as needed
- Build and maintain relationships with teams across Ofcom
- Deliver or contribute to Supervision Team initiatives, including international or cross-regulatory engagement and market expertise development
- Communicate and share information across the Online Safety Group
- Provide updates on supervised services
- Drive programme management of compliance delivery for a strategic priority, including developing OKRs, prioritising issues, and supporting supervision teams to meet deadlines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Presentation and drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and understandable communications or documents for internal and external use
- Experience of working in complex policy compliance or with regulatory issues
- Ability to grasp the bigger picture, foresee upcoming trends and challenges, and align actions and decisions with long-term objectives
- Ability to organise tasks and set clear goals, manage resources wisely, and monitor progress
- Flexibility in the face of change, anticipating and adjusting to shifts
- Ability to work effectively with others, creating an honest team environment and sharing information and resources
- Ability to guide opinions and decisions through compelling communication and persuasion
- Ability to support others in developing their skills and strengths
- Ability to manage projects from beginning to end and manage internal and external stakeholders, demonstrated through the application
- CV and covering letter of no more than one page required
- Two fixed-term positions available, expected to last 12 months
