About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish a professional support function for the legal team
  • Lead the legal team training programme, including identifying training needs, coordinating delivery, managing the budget and liaising with learning and development and external providers
  • Manage the programme for lawyers providing training to the wider organisation
  • Establish systems and processes for collecting and sharing legal know-how
  • Support colleagues' professional development and awareness of relevant legal developments
  • Identify and oversee efficiency and expertise improvements, including templates, checklists, guidance and other resources
  • Communicate with counterparts in the legal teams of other UK regulators
  • Build on initiatives exploring legal technology and AI for research, training and knowledge management
  • Manage relationships with legal research platform providers and raise awareness of platform tools

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified lawyer: solicitor, barrister or equivalent qualification
  • Prior experience of a professional support / knowledge lawyer role
  • Experience in a directly relevant area of law is advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships
  • Ability to work independently, organise and prioritise tasks, set goals and manage resources
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, in writing and orally, adapting messages to different audiences
  • Ability to generate ideas to improve processes, save time or harness existing knowledge
  • Interest in expanding legal knowledge and skills into new areas
