About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop and deliver Interventions-related training across all 10 CT regions
- Plan, prepare, quality assure, coordinate and deliver bespoke Counter Terrorism training throughout the UK
- Facilitate learning and personal development in accordance with the National LTE Strategy
- Develop, validate and evaluate training courses against organisational objectives and customer requirements
- Facilitate National training programmes with regional and national trainers and subject experts
- Research, prepare and update lesson plans and training materials, including handouts and presentation slides
- Address training issues identified through operational or exercise reviews and debriefs
- Deliver training through facilitation, didactic teaching, demonstrations, role-plays and practical case studies
- Assist with reviewing and developing modules for the national Counter Terrorism training programme
- Identify training and development gaps across the CT Network
- Support day-to-day administration, including attendance, liaison and resource preparation
- Supervise and support students during courses and support their workplace mentors
- Monitor learning and development programme effectiveness through evaluation processes
- Ensure training products are fit for purpose and aligned with Best Value principles
- Promote health and safety, equality, diversity and Human Rights in the learning environment
- Liaise with national and regional departments to maintain consistent training delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Sound working knowledge and personal experience of Counter Terrorism Policing, specifically the Interventions thematic area
- Current, recognised Trainer qualification of Certificate in Education and Training (CET) Level 4 or equivalent, or willingness and ability to acquire it
- Hold or be willing to work towards a certificate in assessing vocational achievement, such as CAVA Level 3 or equivalent
- Experience delivering training courses or presentations to students and other trainers
- Experience using IT packages to design and deliver training, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
- Conversant with and able to identify and contribute to best practice within the Counter Terrorism field
- Full driving licence
- Prepared to travel nationally
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage conflicts involving people and tasks
- Ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with professionals across the National CT Network
- Awareness of equality and diversity appropriate to the role
- High level of personal integrity
- British nationality required; some dual nationalities may be ineligible
- Enhanced Security Check clearance required, subject to additional security clearance checks
- Desirable: experience interpreting and applying relevant legislation, including contributing to new legislation or national bodies
- Desirable: experience working in a Learning, Training or Exercising environment
