About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with physicians under the direction of a Physician or Lead Physician to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, and evaluation of outpatient clinic patients
- Provide care during acute and chronic phases of illness
- Educate and counsel individuals
- Refer patients to healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate
- Coordinate care for clinic patients
- Perform history and physical examinations on new and return patients
- Establish presumptive diagnoses
- Order appropriate laboratory studies and testing
- Formulate treatment plans with physicians and conduct follow-up
- Conduct comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develop patient care plans
- Review and assess patient medications
- Evaluate patient care outcomes and initiate changes in the nursing approach
- Triage clinic patient calls, notify physicians as needed, and follow up with patients according to provider instructions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- NP: Current Ohio Registered Nursing License
- Master’s degree in nursing and successful completion of an acceptable Nurse Practitioner education program, or Physician Assistant Program
- Certification to include Prescriptive Authority
- Knowledge of triage procedures along with clinic, physician office and/or urgent care experience
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for administration of medications and patient care aids
- Ability to educate and clearly communicate with patients and/or families about disease, care, and treatment
- Ability to convey information in writing and verbally
- High level of interpersonal skills for sensitive and confidential situations
- Demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
- Analytical ability and critical thinking to gather and interpret data and develop, recommend, and implement solutions
