About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist management with the day-to-day operations of clinic medical support and patient care
  • Model, train, and promote high-functioning clinical support staff
  • Lead the day-to-day work and productivity of patient care staff
  • Advise and assist staff with patient/customer concerns and clinic-operation issues
  • Perform routine specialized medical procedures according to established clinical protocols
  • Serve as a clinical preceptor to enhance training and address staff skill deficiencies
  • Assist management with scheduling, daily work assignments, hiring, training, employee engagement, performance management, operational improvement, and reinforcing management expectations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Meets all Medical Assistant knowledge, skills, and abilities requirements
  • Certification and 2 years of tenure with OSUP, including one year in a Senior role (internal candidates)
  • 2 years of tenure with OSUP, including one year in a Senior role, and a minimum of 7 years of prior Medical Assistant experience (internal candidates)
  • 2 years of certification or 7 years of overall Medical Assistant experience (external candidates)
  • Prior experience working in a preceptor designation preferred
  • Current BLS Certification preferred
  • Experience with EMR preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of relevant systems and processes
  • Leadership, training, and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate, direct, and retain Medical Assistants
