Lead Medical Assistant – Family Practice Services

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist management with day-to-day clinic operations related to medical support and patient care
- Model, train, and promote high-functioning clinical support staff
- Lead the daily work and productivity of patient care staff
- Advise and assist staff with patient/customer concerns and clinic-operation issues
- Perform routine specialized medical procedures according to established clinical protocols
- Serve as a clinical preceptor to enhance training and address staff skill deficiencies
- Assist management with scheduling, daily work assignments, hiring, training, employee engagement, performance management, service or operational improvement, and reinforcing management expectations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Meets all Medical Assistant KSA’s
- Internal candidates: Certification and 2 years of tenure with OSUP, including one year in a Senior role, or 2 years of tenure with OSUP, including one year in a Senior role and a minimum of 7 years of prior Medical Assistant experience
- External candidates: 2 years of Certification or 7 years of overall Medical Assistant experience
- Prior experience working in a preceptor designation preferred
- Current BLS Certification preferred
- Experience with EMR preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of relevant systems and processes
- Excellent leadership, training, and communication skills
- Ability to motivate, direct, and retain Medical Assistants
