About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist management with day-to-day clinic operations related to medical support and patient care
  • Demonstrate clinical skills and expertise in relevant systems and processes
  • Model, train, and promote high-functioning clinical support staff
  • Lead the day-to-day work and productivity of patient care staff
  • Advise and assist staff with patient/customer concerns and clinic-operation issues
  • Perform routine specialized medical procedures according to established clinical protocols
  • Serve as a clinical preceptor to enhance training and address staff skill deficiencies
  • Assist management with scheduling, daily work assignments, hiring, training, employee engagement, performance management, operational improvements, and reinforcing expectations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Meets all Medical Assistant KSA’s
  • Internal candidates: certification and 2 years of tenure with OSUP, with one year in a Senior role, OR 2 years of tenure with OSUP, with one year in a Senior role, and a minimum of 7 years prior Medical Assistant experience
  • External candidates: 2 years of certification or 7 years of overall Medical Assistant experience
  • Prior experience working in a preceptor designation preferred
  • Current BLS Certification preferred
  • Experience with EMR preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • Experience performing Senior Medical Assistant responsibilities
  • Experience with clinical procedures and established clinical protocols
  • Leadership, training, and communication skills
