About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist management with day-to-day clinic operations related to medical support and patient care
  • Model, train, and promote high-functioning clinical support staff across experience levels
  • Lead the daily work and productivity of patient care staff
  • Advise and assist staff with patient/customer concerns and clinic-operation issues
  • Perform routine specialized medical procedures according to established clinical protocols
  • Serve as a clinical preceptor to enhance training and address staff skill deficiencies
  • Assist management with scheduling, daily work assignments, hiring, training, employee engagement, performance management, service and operational improvement, and reinforcing expectations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Meets all Medical Assistant KSA’s
  • Internal candidates: Certification and 2 years of tenure with OSUP, including one year in a Senior role, or 2 years of tenure with OSUP, including one year in a Senior role, and a minimum of 7 years prior Medical Assistant experience
  • External candidates: 2 years of certification or 7 years of overall Medical Assistant experience
  • Prior experience working in a preceptor designation preferred
  • Current BLS Certification preferred
  • Experience with EMR preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of relevant systems and processes
  • Leadership, training, and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate, direct, and retain Medical Assistants
