About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with direct patient care and perform routine specialized medical procedures according to established clinical protocols
- Assist medical and nursing staff with patient examinations and treatment
- Room patients and measure and record vital signs
- Complete patient interviews and histories
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments and explain procedures
- Assist with physician-ordered procedures, examinations, treatments, and special tests
- Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms
- Collect blood, urine, and sputum samples and perform routine laboratory tests
- Manage and organize the medical office inbox
- Receive incoming patient information and gather necessary data for healthcare providers
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR Military Medic training OR EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Ability to provide direct patient care and assist medical and/or nursing staff
- Ability to perform routine clinical procedures, patient interviews, vital-sign measurements, sample collection, and routine laboratory tests
- Ability to manage and organize a medical office inbox and patient information
