About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers
  • Coordinate patient flow and prepare patients for examinations
  • Obtain and record vital signs and health histories
  • Assist with clinical procedures, examinations, tests, and treatments as ordered by physicians
  • Administer vaccines and medications as directed
  • Support preventive and chronic care management
  • Room patients and explain examination, test, and treatment procedures
  • Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms
  • Collect blood, urine, and sputum samples
  • Perform routine laboratory tests on samples
  • Support patient education, appointment coordination, and follow-up activities
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare team members
  • Facilitate efficient clinic operations and continuity of care across pediatric and adult patient populations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One of the following: a diploma from a Medical Assistant Program; minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience; Military Medic training; EMT-P (Paramedic) training; or equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • Ability to provide clinical and administrative support in a busy Pediatric and General Internal Medicine clinic
  • Ability to obtain vital signs and health histories
  • Ability to assist with clinical procedures and administer vaccines and medications as directed
  • Ability to collect blood, urine, and sputum samples and perform routine laboratory tests
  • Compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
