About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers
  • Coordinate patient flow and facilitate efficient clinic operations
  • Room patients and measure and record height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration
  • Complete patient interviews and histories
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments and explain procedures
  • Assist medical and nursing staff with examinations, treatments, special tests, and physician-ordered procedures
  • Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms
  • Collect blood, urine, and sputum samples
  • Perform routine laboratory tests on samples
  • Administer vaccines and medications as directed
  • Support preventive and chronic care management
  • Provide patient education, appointment coordination, and follow-up activities
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare team members
  • Maintain patient experience, quality, safety, and regulatory standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR Military Medic training OR EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • Ability to provide clinical and administrative support in a busy Pediatric and General Internal Medicine clinic
  • Ability to obtain vital signs and health histories
  • Ability to assist with clinical procedures
  • Ability to administer vaccines and medications as directed
  • Ability to support preventive and chronic care management
  • Ability to serve pediatric and adult patient populations
  • Compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
