About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, evaluation, education, counseling, and care coordination for patients in an outpatient women’s health setting under the direction of an OB/GYN physician
- Perform comprehensive health histories and physical examinations for new and established patients
- Assess, diagnose, and manage women’s health concerns across the lifespan, including preventive, gynecologic, reproductive, and menopausal care
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and screenings
- Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Conduct comprehensive and episodic health assessments and develop patient-centered care plans
- Review, prescribe, and manage medications in accordance with Ohio licensure and prescriptive authority guidelines
- Provide patient education regarding preventive care, treatment options, disease management, reproductive health, and wellness strategies
- Evaluate patient outcomes and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated
- Triage patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical concerns, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination of care
- Facilitate referrals to specialists, community resources, and other healthcare providers as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Support quality, safety, infection prevention, and patient satisfaction initiatives within the practice
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (CWHNP) required
- Current Ohio Certificate to Prescribe (CTP) and DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain
- Previous OB/GYN clinical experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of women’s health, gynecologic care, preventive screening practices, and reproductive health management
- Experience in an outpatient clinic, physician practice, or women’s health setting preferred
- Knowledge of triage procedures and patient care coordination
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
- Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for medication management and patient care
- Ability to educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and empathy
- Demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy, analytical thinking, and clinical judgment
