About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, evaluation, education, counseling, and care coordination for patients in an outpatient women’s health setting under the direction of an OB/GYN Physician
  • Perform comprehensive health histories and physical examinations for new and established patients
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage preventive, gynecologic, reproductive, and menopausal care across the lifespan
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and screenings
  • Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Conduct comprehensive and episodic health assessments and develop patient-centered care plans
  • Review, prescribe, and manage medications in accordance with Ohio licensure and prescriptive authority guidelines
  • Provide patient education regarding preventive care, treatment options, disease management, reproductive health, and wellness strategies
  • Evaluate patient outcomes and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated
  • Triage patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical concerns, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination of care
  • Facilitate referrals to specialists, community resources, and other healthcare providers
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Support quality, safety, infection prevention, and patient satisfaction initiatives within the practice

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (CWHNP) required
  • Current Ohio Certificate to Prescribe (CTP) and DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain
  • Previous OB/GYN clinical experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of women’s health, gynecologic care, preventive screening practices, and reproductive health management
  • Experience in an outpatient clinic, physician practice, or women’s health setting preferred
  • Knowledge of triage procedures and patient care coordination
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
  • Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for medication management and patient care
  • Ability to educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and empathy
  • Demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy, analytical thinking, and clinical judgment
