About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct patient care and clinical support, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, and assisting with treatments and procedures.
  • Perform approved clinical duties such as medication administration, point-of-care testing, injections, phlebotomy, EKGs, and other tasks within scope of practice.
  • Assist providers during examinations, treatments, special tests, and procedures while maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Prepare examination rooms, maintain equipment and supplies, and ensure a safe, organized patient care environment.
  • Serve as the Revenue Cycle Champion, dedicating approximately 25% of the role to registration, scheduling, pre-certification, insurance verification, and related patient access activities.
  • Promote accurate documentation, demographic collection, and workflow practices that support revenue cycle performance and a positive patient experience.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in training and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work closely with providers, staff, and patients in an outpatient setting to deliver high-quality care and efficient clinic workflows.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant certification with at least one year of Medical Assistant experience, or two years of Medical Assistant experience if uncertified.
  • Demonstrated success in a designated champion role and ability to serve as a clinic resource.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Experience using electronic medical records and standard computer applications.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred.
  • Experience with outpatient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, prior authorizations, referrals, or other revenue cycle-related functions preferred.
  • Experience supporting both clinical and front-desk operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems, HIPAA, OSHA, and healthcare compliance requirements preferred.
