About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform fuel performance analyses and verification for current and future fuel designs for Oklo's Aurora powerhouses
  • Analyze current and novel fuel design performance across expected operating and postulated off-normal conditions
  • Devise efficient analysis methodologies, including software development of modeling and simulation tools
  • Verify and validate modeling and simulation tools
  • Support experimental fuel campaigns
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with reactor design, fuel fabrication, licensing, and design teams
  • Document analyses using modern tools and techniques
  • Write thorough technical reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, plus 3 years of experience
  • Experience with multi-physics system performance analyses
  • Experience with finite element simulation software (e.g., Ansys, Abaqus)
  • Experience with material analysis
  • Experience with object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, C++)
  • Experience with nuclear fuel performance analysis (bonus qualification)
  • Familiarity with metallic fuels (bonus qualification)
  • Experience with fuel analysis and fuel performance software (e.g., BISON, LIFE-METAL, etc.) (bonus qualification)
  • Experience in material selection and material analysis (bonus qualification)
  • Fluency in Python (bonus qualification)
  • Successful completion of a drug screening may be required
  • Employees may be subject to drug testing in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
