About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries in NetSuite, including accruals, prepaids, allocations, reclassifications, and month-end adjustments
- Maintain complete journal-entry support and ensure entries are accurate, approved, and posted within close timelines
- Complete balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations in FloQast and tie balances to the NetSuite general ledger
- Research, document, and resolve reconciling items and unusual account activity
- Own monthly and quarterly close tasks in FloQast and communicate status, issues, and dependencies
- Run and analyze NetSuite general ledger, trial balance, and transaction-detail reports
- Prepare account roll-forwards, supporting schedules, and variance analyses for management and financial reporting review
- Partner with accounts payable, payroll, procurement, and other business teams to obtain information for journal entries and reconciliations
- Support quarterly and annual financial reporting activities, including SEC reporting schedules
- Execute assigned internal controls and maintain SOX-compliant documentation
- Provide schedules and supporting documentation to internal and external auditors and respond to audit requests
- Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate journal-entry, reconciliation, and close processes
- Assist with accounting research and special projects, documenting conclusions and proposed accounting treatment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Three to five years of progressive general accounting experience, including hands-on month-end close responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience preparing and posting journal entries and completing balance sheet account reconciliations
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Big 4 experience preferred
- CPA is a plus
- Master's degree in accountancy is a bonus qualification
- Fast-growth startup or public company experience is a bonus qualification
- Hands-on experience using NetSuite for general ledger accounting and financial reporting is a bonus qualification
- Hands-on experience using FloQast for account reconciliations and close management is a bonus qualification
- Experience reconciling and recording stock-based compensation and payroll is a bonus qualification
- Passion for clean energy and making advanced fission a reality
