About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Model and train staff in Positive Behavior Support methodology
- Serve on Interdisciplinary Teams (IDTs), providing behavioral expertise
- Assess, design, train, monitor, and report on Behavior Plans
- Conduct descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, and interpret results
- Provide direct behavioral treatment through replacement skills training, social skills training, crisis de-escalation, group and individual behavioral treatment, and/or skills coaching
- Monitor restraint use and provide training to reduce it
- Monitor challenging behavior
- Participate in the Behavior Intervention Committee, Human Rights Committee, and other relevant committees
- Provide individualized services meeting the treatment needs of specialty intermediate care clinic patients
- Follow all policies and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must obtain VA licensure
- Must have afternoon/evening hours available
- Doctoral or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or related discipline
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification is required
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to make independent decisions with good judgment and attention to detail
- Ability to participate in and demonstrate knowledge of approved crisis management procedures
- Ability to record/enter data neatly, accurately, and objectively, consistent with Oakwood requirements
