About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct day-to-day compliance reviews of new products, features, market expansions and material changes across OKX's global business and product suite
Review product requirements, technical documentation, user journeys, onboarding flows, trading or transaction mechanics, reward structures, disclosures and operational processes
Apply a risk-based waterfall to distinguish legal or regulatory blockers from risks addressable through controls, product conditions, jurisdictional restrictions, monitoring, escalation or risk acceptance
Conduct and document product compliance risk assessments covering licensing, AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC, consumer protection, financial promotions, trading and market conduct, asset safeguarding, data privacy and third-party risk
Produce evidence-based compliance recommendations covering risks, mitigants, residual exposure and approval or escalation routes
Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Risk, Central Compliance and local Compliance teams on practical, scalable solutions
Maintain documentation and audit trails for reviews, decisions, conditions, exceptions, approvals and changes
Support post-launch monitoring, control testing and assurance; drive remediation of identified issues
Promote compliance-by-design and communicate the Product Compliance framework and requirements
Deliver targeted training or guidance to Product, Engineering and business teams
Support special projects and priority product launches

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 8 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Legal or Risk within financial services, fintech, payments or the cryptocurrency industry
Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, economics, engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Significant hands-on experience in product compliance, regulatory advisory or product risk assessment
Strong understanding of digital-asset products, including trading, custody, payments, staking or earn products, lending, structured products, wallets or DeFi
Strong working knowledge of licensing, regulatory-perimeter considerations, AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC, consumer protection, financial promotions and trading or market-conduct requirements
Ability to analyze complex, high-risk products and translate regulatory requirements into practical product requirements and controls
Experience leveraging AI-enabled technology for risk assessment, including tuning agentic skills aligned with the Company's risk appetite
Excellent risk judgment and pragmatic, risk-based decision-making
Ability to develop repeatable product compliance solutions, controls and review processes
Strong project-management and execution skills; ability to manage concurrent reviews, maintain documentation and meet product-launch deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong stakeholder-management skills and ability to constructively challenge proposals
Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, globally dispersed team
High personal integrity and sound professional judgment
Nice to have: direct product compliance or regulatory advisory experience at a crypto exchange, fintech or technology-led financial-services company
Nice to have: experience supporting multi-jurisdictional product launches across the United States, European Union, Middle East or Asia-Pacific
Nice to have: knowledge of CeFi trading products, Web3 products, blockchain technology, smart contracts, DeFi protocols and digital-asset transaction flows
Nice to have: experience developing compliance risk-assessment frameworks, controls and key risk indicators
