About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead preparation of the annual Gross Revenues Statement and audit working papers
  • Serve as primary liaison with external auditors
  • Lead fulfillment of OLG's contractual reporting obligations
  • Collaborate with internal departments across the organization
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
  • Support financial statement audits and internal control reviews
  • Prepare briefing notes and documentation for Executive Leadership, the Audit and Risk Management Committee, and the Board of Directors
  • Support internal departments with financial information requests from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships to ensure proper controls and systems for financial reporting
  • Review, analyze, and assess contracts for accounting treatment under IFRS
  • Support Finance lines of business and internal stakeholders with IFRS compliance, reference materials, accounting recommendations, and decision-supporting working papers
  • Support continuous process improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including preparation of financial statements, working papers, and application of financial controls and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience applying IFRS accounting standards in a financial reporting environment
  • Experience with IFRS revenue recognition standards
  • Experience supporting external reporting, audit activities, and financial governance processes is an asset
  • Understanding of OLG's business model and the lottery and gaming industry is an asset
  • Strong analytical thinking and business acumen
  • Strong research skills interpreting accounting standards and evaluating technical accounting matters
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to identify process improvement and operational efficiency opportunities
  • Superior presentation and communication skills
  • Experience preparing presentations, briefing notes, and executive materials
