About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide basic project design through CAD drafting for mixed-use, commercial, residential, industrial, sports, school, and other site development projects
- Instruct drafters on how to create design drawings
- Prepare project schedules and documentation
- Perform basic plan production and limited-scope design calculations
- Develop and apply knowledge of design and modeling software
- Coordinate with experienced engineers and designers on non-routine techniques and procedures
- Conduct research, recommend solutions, and draft technical reports
- Travel to job sites for observation
- Mentor student interns in basic technical skills and knowledge
- Create and maintain project and client information in the project management system
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong communication skills
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Must possess Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certificate
- 2+ years of related civil engineering design experience
- Knowledge of AutoCAD; Civil 3D is a plus
- Ability to travel for in-office activities, client visits, and site visits as needed
