About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform engineering and project management duties on land development projects
  • Prepare planning and design documents
  • Meet client needs from conception to completion
  • Coordinate with Olsson teams, professional staff, technical staff, and clients
  • Travel to job sites for observation and attend client meetings as needed
  • Prepare process design calculations and cost estimates
  • Use economic analyses to compare alternatives
  • Assist with or develop project scopes, schedules, initiation paperwork, budget reviews, and progress reports
  • Coordinate project design aspects and direct team members on design tasks
  • Maintain project records, including correspondence, drawings, and files
  • Inform project managers of progress and problems
  • Assist with marketing and business development, including proposal writing
  • Serve as project manager on small projects when needed
  • Independently perform assignments on complex projects
  • Coordinate professional and technical staff work and potentially supervise student or technical staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or landscape architecture
  • Minimum of six (6) years of related civil engineering experience
  • Proficient in Civil 3D software
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Landscape Architect
  • Ability to travel to Nebraska office locations for in-office activities, client visits, and site visits as needed
